VIDEO: Broadchurch Stars Say They've Been "Upgraded" For Gracepoint

Broadchurch stars Jodie Whittaker, Andrew Buchan and David Bradley have reacted to their first glimpse of the American remake Gracepoint and the new cast who have stepped into their own roles. The trio spoke to Radio Times on the BAFTA red carpet on Sunday night.

"We've been upgraded to bigger stars," joked Jodie Whittaker, and, while David Bradley contemplated being Nick Nolte, Andrew Buchan attempted to claim that he had asked for Antonio Banderas to play his part. Jodie described the trailer as "Amazing!" while Andrew said it would be"...bigger and better".

Their co-star David Tennant has been shooting Gracepoint in Canada for the last few months but will soon be back in the UK to start work on the second series of Broadchurch. Andrew and Jodie will also be returning, along with Olivia Colman, and Arthur Darvill, who told fans at the Collectormania event in Milton Keynes over the weekend that the cast read through would take place this Thursday.

The casting news was finally revealed last Monday after fans had been speculating for months. Jodie said that they had known about their own returns for a while and that it was a relief to be able to confirm it at last. She also joked about accidentally revealing David Tennant's return a few weeks ago. "I didn't know it was a secret!" she laughed.
