Sport Relief Details Revealed - Including David Tennant's Visit To Sierra Leone

The BBC have released details of this year's Sport Relief which will air on BBC One, BBC Two and BBC HD on Friday 21st March and will include an appeal video featuring David Tennant's visit to Sierra Leone.

They say:
The Sport Relief Weekend is kicking off with the biggest night of TV ever on Friday 21 March with a stellar line-up of sport and entertainment stars bringing viewers an unmissable evening of entertainment broadcast live, for the first time, from Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

TV favourites including Gary Lineker, David Walliams, Davina McCall, Claudia Winkleman, Jack Whitehall and Fearne Cotton will present the star-studded Friday night extravaganza featuring original sketches, special celebrity performances and highlights from this year’s challenges.

Sport Relief hero John Bishop and four-time Olympic medal-winner Sebastian Coe will be donning their sports kit at the Olympic Park to captain two teams of celebrities and go head to head in a series of sporting challenges in the Clash of the Titans. Clare Balding and Gabby Logan will report all the action from the London Aquatics Centre and Lee Valley VeloPark as the two teams take on rhythmic gymnastics, track cycling, synchronised swimming and a swimming relay. With the Clash of the Titans trophy up for grabs, the competition will be fierce, the challenges demanding and the potential for sporting upset high.

Only Fools And Horses will be back on screens after a 10-year absence with an eagerly awaited sketch that will see David Beckham, one of the show’s biggest fans, join Del Boy (David Jason) and Rodney (Nicholas Lyndhurst) in Peckham.

Four Paralympians – David Clarke, Hannah Cockroft, Nathan Stephens and Martine Wright – will add a touch of sparkle to the evening as they swap their sport kit for sequins in a Strictly Come Dancing special, performing an amazing group dance.

Those tuning in will also get to see highlights from this year’s celebrity challenges, with Alex Jones, Davina McCall, Robbie Savage and Alan Shearer all pushing themselves to their physical limits in the name of Sport Relief.

There will be also live musical performances from Little Mix, who have recorded this year’s official Sport Relief single, Word Up; from the original pop princess Kylie Minogue; and heart throb favourites Boyzone.

Powerful reminders of the serious side of Sport Relief will be shown throughout the night with moving appeal films, presented by the likes of Davina McCall, Little Mix and David Tennant, showing how the money raised could help change lives both here in the UK and around the world.

Sport Relief 2014 takes place across the weekend of the 21st - 23rd March, and you can join in by taking part in the Mile, the Cycle or the Swimathon or perhaps coming up with your own fundraising idea. The money raised by the public is spent by Comic Relief to help change the lives of some of the poorest and most disadvantaged people both at home in the UK and across the world. More information about how you can get involved can be found on the Sport Relief website.
